Hitting Your Mark explains how to make it as a film actor and, more importantly, how to conduct your life as a working professional in a very competitive business.
About the Author
Steve Carlson was a film & television actor in Los Angeles for over 20 years. He stared in ten movies, guest-stared in over 50 TV episodes, from The VIRGINIAN to SEINFELD and was a series regular for many years on the daytime dramas GENERAL HOSPITAL and THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. He was also writer of screenplays and filmed / recorded hundreds of commercials, both on-camera and VO.
Under the heading of ‘write what you know’ Steve’s first book was ‘Hitting Your Mark” making a life – and a living- as a film actor. There are many books on acting, this focused on the unique difficulties of acting on film. (2 editions, translated into German.)
Trading the chaos of LA for the serenity of Southern Oregon, he continues his writing. His first two novels were published by St. Martin’s Press; ‘Almost Graceland’ and ‘Final Exposure.”
HEAVEN, the novel, is the next in line. “This is not a religious book or a philosophical treatise but I certainly do deal with religion and philosophy. What it is, hopefully, is an enjoyable, thought-provoking tale.”
